"Oversky" - Bucuresti, B

The students from School No 22 "Mexic" from Bucharest, coordinated by their Physics teacher, Florentina Iofciu, contributed to the "Oversky" event dedicated to the World Space Week. They built rocket and plane models from recyclable materials, enriched their knowledge about our Solar System ,drew a mission patch, and made power point presentations related to space.

As narrated on the event's blog, http://www.oversky22.blogspot.com/:

"In our school students inspired by Physics teacher Florentina IOFCIU celebrated WORLD SPACE WEEK 2008. It was a lot of fun but also instructing! We used some materials offered by our sponsors: OSA kit for optic experiments from Optical Society of America with the help of dr. Dan Sporea , director of CSET -Center of Science Education and Training -IFIN Magurele; NASA Toys in Space and other e-tools from Space Academy for Educators2007 -Honeywell- Space Camp and Rocket Center in Huntsville Alabama; Tools from Theree Rivers College; Some parents get involved a lot, as we have in the Physics Lab an exhibition with rockets, space station models , land rovers, future towns models and paintings, all made by recycling materials. Robert Constantin helped by his father, together with his mates Marin Constantin, Alex Cristea and Laurentiu Marin -grade VI.B made a paper rocket about 1,8 m high. Andrei Serpoi from VI.A made a bubble rocket and launched it in the company of his classmates .
