Anca Ighisan, Physics teacher at the "Octavian Goga" National College in Sibiu, hosted "Big Bang?" - an event debating the controversial CERN experiment. The event took place at two levels:
1.) Science session on the topic of Big-Bang - during this session presentations were held about the experiment at Geneva and about expected outcomes of this experiment: the reconstruction of the primary state of the Universe in the first thousand of seconds after the Big-Bang, the observation of the “Bozon Higgs”, a mysterious particle that according to this theory could confer mass to all the other particles. The event was intended to help in viewing the antimatter generated in equal quantities with the matter at the Big-Bang point.
2.) Designing of a board with the title “The Chronology of the Universe“ - that included suggestive pictures from the zero moment to the present and then to the future of the Universe.
The science session was presented in powerpoint slides by the 11th grade students, whereas the board was designed by the 10th grade students.
