On October the 8th, School Inspector Luminita Chicinas from the Cluj County School Inspectorate brought the World Space Week to the people of Cluj. "The Universe Next to Us: Let's Learn More About It!" occurred on the main walking boulevard of Cluj-Napoca, the Eroilor Boulevard. Here pupils together with their physics teachers presented science projects, a model rocket launch competition, the best posters from each school, and interacted with the passers-bies. About 800 pupils from 32 secondary and upper secondary schools attended the event. Each group of students had its own view about the Universe: models of planets, stars, galaxies, satellites were made from usual and not so usual materials: paper, wood, vegetables etc. Also, a group of students played an original song about the Universe. A number of schools had questionnaires for the people passing by on the Eroilor Boulevard, as well as small trivia notices: "Did you know?". The event had a good mass media coverage on local (Napoca Cable Network, One) and national TV (Antena1, ProTV, Realitatea), radio (Radio Renasterea) and on written media (local, regional and electronic news).
