Expozitie de astrofotografie - "De la ochi la infinit", Carturesti, TM

Between 5-28 October 2009, Timisoara hosted an astrophotography exhibition by Alexandru Conu and Cristina Tinta. The location was the Carturesti Bookshop in Iulius Mall, and the hosts were Virgiliu Pop from the Romanian Space Agency, and Anca Pol.

Alex Conu was born in 1983 and has been interested in Astronomy since he was 5 when he saw a very bright Perseid fireball. Today, he's a well known amateur astronomer in Romania. Alex is the head of the Photographic Commission of The Romanian Society for Meteors and Astronomy (SARM) and a member in the jury of the National Astrophotography Contest ASTROFOTO organized by SARM. Alex is also a member of the Bucharest Astroclub and collaborates with many astronomical institutions and associations from Romania and abroad. Alex's astrophotos have been published in many Romanian and foreign magazines. He, also, won many prizes in astrophotography both in Romania and abroad. Besides astrophotography, Alex is interested in comets, meteors, deep sky objects, eclipses, grazing occultations, variable stars etc. In his everyday life, Alex is a freelance photographer specialized in Fashion Photography. You can visit his personal website at www.conu.ro Cristina Tinta was born in 1984, has been interested in astronomy since childhood. She started to pursuit astronomy as a hobby in 1999 when she witnessed the total solar eclipse of August 11th. Cristina is Secretary General of The Romanian Society for Meteors and Astronomy(SARM) and also collaborates with astronomical associations and institutions from Romania and abroad. She took on astrophotography a few years before and she managed to win a few prizes in Romania and abroad at different astrophotography contests. Some of her photos have been published in Romanian magazines. Christina is the first Romanian to succeed in photographing a Solar Eclipse on a single film frame. All other attempts have been unsuccessful due to bad weather or just bad luck. Cristina also observes meteors, deep sky objects and eclipses. In her everyday life, Cristina works for a Lawyer's Office in Bucharest.
